Common questions

Hmm… wondering about something? Here's what people ask us most.

Can I rent an apartment on a working holiday visa?

Yes. Many landlords in Japan hesitate with short visas, so we focus on properties that accept working holiday visa holders and tell you upfront which ones are realistic.

I'm still outside Japan. Can I start now?

Yes. Some properties accept screening from overseas. Message us with your arrival date and we'll suggest options and arrange video viewings.

Do I need a Japanese guarantor?

Usually not. Most properties we work with use a guarantor company instead of a personal guarantor. We'll explain the requirements for each property.

Can I split the initial costs?

Yes, through our partner smooth. You'll need a Japanese bank account to apply. Ask us and we'll check whether your property and situation qualify.

Do I need a Japanese phone number to sign up?

Not to start talking with us. If you need a number for your application, we can help you activate a SIM card the same day.
